Six months ago, we introduced the Virtual Signer as a groundbreaking feature within io.finnet, designed to scale digital asset operations with automated, cryptographically enforced transaction policies. Today, we’re thrilled to announce the relaunch of Virtual Signer as part of io.finnet’s Apps ecosystem, now equipped with a revamped user interface and experience (UI/UX) that makes setting up rules and policies easier than ever.

This relaunch builds on our core mission: empowering organizations to manage digital assets securely, flexibly, and without compromise. With the new Virtual Signer app, we’ve streamlined the process of defining and enforcing transaction governance, bringing enterprise-grade security into a user-friendly package. Whether you’re configuring approval workflows, setting spending limits, or integrating with smart contracts, the updated UI/UX ensures that even non-technical users can harness the full power of this advanced custody tool.

What’s New with Virtual Signer?

The Virtual Signer remains a cornerstone of io.finnet’s trustless Multi-Party Computation (MPC) framework, enabling automated transaction approvals while enforcing policies with cryptographic precision. What’s changed is how effortlessly you can now configure it. Here’s what’s new:

  1. Intuitive Rule and Policy Setup
The redesigned UI streamlines the creation of transaction policies. With just a few clicks, you can set rules like multi-layer approval thresholds or whitelist-only recipient addresses, no coding required. We’ve made great strides in simplifying this process, and while it’s already a powerful tool, we’re fine-tuning it further. Look out for an even more intuitive version coming in April!
  2. Seamless Smart Contract Integration
For on-chain governance fans, the new UX includes a step-by-step wizard to connect Virtual Signer to smart contracts. In this release, we’ve deployed these contracts on Polygon, offering a fast and cost-effective foundation. You can configure rules for any chain, including non-EVM networks like Bitcoin or Tron, and manage them all through Polygon’s secure infrastructure (see below images). Deploying policies has never been this approachable!
  3. Real-Time Visualization
Get a clear view of your policies with a live dashboard that previews how rules apply to transactions. This feature lets you test and refine your setup with confidence, ensuring everything works as intended.
  4. Enhanced Flexibility
Whether you’re using Virtual Signer standalone or alongside human signers, the app now supports quick adjustments to signing power and thresholds, aligning with your organization’s unique workflows.

Why It Matters

Balancing security and simplicity is key in digital asset management, and Virtual Signer delivers both. Running within Intel SGX secure enclaves and powered by io.finnet’s MPC and Threshold Signature Schemes (TSS), it eliminates vulnerabilities while enforcing your rules cryptographically. The revamped UI/UX builds on this foundation, making advanced automation accessible, and we’re committed to making it even better with each update.

Take this scenario: you want transactions over $50,000 to require approval from three out of five signers, while smaller amounts process automatically up to a per-transaction limit. With Virtual Signer, you can set this up in minutes, visually mapping the workflow and testing it, no code needed. (Daily caps per account are on our roadmap, but for now, you can lock in max amounts per transaction with ease!)

A Concrete Look at the Feature

To give you a clearer picture, here’s how the new Virtual Signer app shines:

  • Allocate secret shares to an external server that participates in signing 24/7, with customizable policies:

  • Virtual Signer Config Creation

→ Review step

  • Create Transaction Policy Rule

→ App Details

Built on a Foundation of Security and Innovation

The relaunch doesn’t change what makes Virtual Signer exceptional: its cryptographic enforcement and flexibility. Policies are executed within a trusted execution environment, ensuring that what you approve is what gets signed, no server-side loopholes. Plus, with support for docker deployment and API connectivity, it fits seamlessly into your existing systems.

This update reflects io.finnet’s commitment to evolving with our users. Since its debut, Virtual Signer has empowered organizations to automate transaction governance while maintaining full custody control. Now, with a UI/UX designed for simplicity, we’re making that power accessible to even more teams, whether you’re a fintech startup, a DeFi protocol, or an enterprise managing diverse digital assets.
